Rattlesnake Ramble Half ‘Virtual’ Walkthrough

#1-Veer LEFT on Shoreline at Bullet Hill Trail (.3 miles approx)

You’re cruising along Shoreline Trail for just over 1/4 of a mile before Shoreline intersects with Bullet Hill Trail. You will veer LEFT and continue on Shoreline Trail.

#2-Veer LEFT/UPHILL on Shoreline Trail towards Back Ranch (.9 miles approx)

Just shy of a mile (.9 miles), you will encounter a trail split on Shoreline. you will veer LEFT/UPHILL on Shoreline Trail.

-Veer Left/Uphill on Shoreline Trail.



#3-Continue STRAIGHT on Shoreline at the intersection of Shoreline @ Back Ranch (1.4 miles)

Half a mile past the Shoreline Trail split, you will hit the intersection of Shoreline & Back Ranch. Simply continue STRAIGHT on Shoreline through this intersection.

-Continue STRAIGHT on Shoreline Trail.



#4-Veer RIGHT towards Bay View Trail (2 miles approx.)



You’ll continue for another 1/2 mile on Shoreline Trail. You’ll see a small campground on the left and a parking lot on your right. This is where the first aid station for the half is located. Grab some aid and continue another 100 meters before veering RIGHT on Shoreline Trail towards Bay View Trail.

#5-Take a hairpin LEFT onto Bay View Trail (2.1 miles approx)



Shortly after veering RIGHT on Shoreline Trail, you will take a SHARP/HAIRPIN left and ASCEND Bay View Trail. Black & white flagging tape indicates ‘WRONG WAY’.

#6-Take a quick RIGHT followed by a quick LEFT on Bay View Trail (2.4 miles)



Follow Bay View uphill (lots of switchbacks) until you hit mile 2.4. Then you make a quick right followed by a quick left to continue on Bayview Trail. This is perhaps the most confusing part of the course. This area will be well flagged and marked with signage. Black & white flagging tape indicates ‘WRONG WAY’.

-Take a quick RIGHT.
-Take a LEFT & head uphill on Bay View Trail



#7-Continue uphill on Bayview until mile 3, then take a hairpin LEFT onto Bay View (3 miles)



At mile 3, take a hairpin LEFT onto Bay View. There will be signage here. This spot will also be well marked with flagging tape. Black & white flagging tape indicates ‘WRONG WAY’.

-Take a Hairpin Left onto Bay View Trail
-Continue on Bay View Trail



#8-Continue on Bay View Trail past Echo Trail (3.8 miles approx)


Echo Trail connects with Bayview from above/right. Black/white flagging tape (‘wrong way’) will be placed on Echo Trail. Do NOT go right/uphill on Echo. Continue straight on Bay View Trail across the bridge.

-Continue on Bay View Trail past Echo Trail.



#9-Follow Bay View to Back Ranch (4.3 miles approx)



Back Ranch Trail connects with Bay View Trail from above/right. Connect with Back Ranch Trail and veer LEFT and DESCEND Back Ranch Trail.

-Veer LEFT and DOWNHILL on Back Ranch Trail.



#10-Take a HAIRPIN LEFT on Back Ranch Trail towards Shoreline Trail (mile 4.4)



Shortly after connecting with Back Ranch, you will take a HAIRPIN left and descend Back Ranch Trail heading towards Shoreline Trail

-Take a HAIRPIN LEFT and descend Back Ranch to Shoreline Trail



#11-Turn RIGHT on Shoreline Trail at the Back Ranch/Shoreline intersection (mile 4.9)



A half a mile after your hairpin left on Back Ranch, you will turn RIGHT on Shoreline Trail at the Back Ranch/Shoreline intersection.

-Turn RIGHT on Shoreline Trail at the Back Ranch/Shoreline intersection.



#12-Follow Shoreline back to Miwok Meadows (mile 6.4 approx)



Grab some aid at Miwok Meadows and continue on Shoreline Trail for the ‘2nd loop’ of the half marathon.

-Continue on Shoreline Trail for the ‘2nd loop’.



#13-Veer RIGHT on Shoreline and continue running (mile 6.75 approx)



Just over a 1/4 mile later you will veer RIGHT onto Shoreline Trail and continue with the 2nd loop of the half marathon.

#14-Veer RIGHT on Shoreline and continue running (mile 8.3 approx)



At mile 8.3, you will encounter a trail ‘split’. Continue RIGHT on Shoreline Trail.

#15-Veer RIGHT/UPHILL on Shoreline and continue running (mile 8.5 approx)



At mile 8.5, you will encounter ‘another trail ‘split’. Continue RIGHT/UPHILL on Shoreline Trail.

#16-Continue STRAIGHT on Oak Ridge (mile 9 approx)



At mile 9, you continue STRAIGHT on Oak Ridge at the trail intersection of Oak Ridge at McNears Trail.

#17-Veer RIGHT on Oak Ridge (mile 9.4 approx)



At mile 9.4, veer RIGHT on Oak Ridge at the ‘2nd’ trail intersection of Oak Ridge at McNears Trail.

#18-Grab some aid at the Knight Drive aid station and continue on Bay View Trail (mile 10 approx).



At mile 10, grab some aid at the FINAL aid station and veer RIGHT to continue on Bay View Trail.

#19-Veer RIGHT and DOWNHILL at the intersection of Bay View @ Back Ranch Trail (mile 11.1 approx).

#20-Turn RIGHT at the intersection of Bay View @ Shoreline Trail onto Shoreline (mile 11.6 approx).



1/2 a mile later, turn RIGHT at the intersection of Bay View @ Shoreline Trail onto Shoreline Trail.
