Diary Entry-Wasting Away in Nahuelitoville…
So, where to begin? I suppose I should lead with the biggest news. WE’RE STILL HERE!
We were just inches from certain death and destruction when yours truly saved the day. The SIREN blew a flux capacitor and had a few other problems. Fortunately, the NEPTUNE crew had a spare one.
And, fortunately, I was adept enough to identify the other issues the SIREN was having. I don’t want to paint myself out to be a hero. But, it wouldn’t be too big of a stretch.
We could have very easily plowed right into the Argentinian navy with Nessie leading the way. But, we got the SIREN working properly again and Nessie promptly changed course and dove headlong into a wormhole.
So, here I am jotting down my thoughts yet again as we travel god knows how many miles in just a few minutes through the earth and through space and time. Something’s bugging me. We’ve seen Nessie do a few things based on the frequency Pops dials up.
Back at Loch Okanagan, a subtle adjustment in the frequency seemed to cause Nessie to ascend and leap into the air before diving deep into an underwater cavern. The frequency seemed to cause almost a joyous response from Nessie.
With a blown flux capacitor, the SIREN was sending out a VERY different frequency that seemed to agitate Nessie. It seemed to trigger Nessie’s sense of territoriality as it went after the Argentinian navy.
This is a total revelation! An altered frequency from the SIREN results in different behavior from Nessie. But, there’s a big difference between eliciting joy or aggression versus (somehow) directing Nessie to take us to a specific place and time via a wormhole.
As brilliant as Pops is, how can a message as complicated as this possibly be conveyed to Nessie? It just doesn’t seem possible. But, like Pops loves to remind me, anything is possible.
Me, Mom, Pops, and Tommy make our life and livelihood walking that fine like between possible and impossible. Man, I miss Tommy. I wish he was with us on this one.
I can’t stop thinking about him. The realization that we can travel through space and time might have something to do with it. If we can hop from Loch to Loch, finding Tommy doesn’t seem like a quantum leap, right?
It’s certainly no less plausible as getting Nessie to take us home somehow. Hope springs eternal. Maybe if we rock enough lochs we can figure this mess out.
While we haven’t chatted about it much (we’ve been a bit pre-occupied), I know Pops is thinking about our conundrum. I know he is bound and determined to find Tommy as much as he is bound and determined to somehow find a way home.
I miss Mom too. I worry about her. She’s tough as nails. But, she’s got no one to help her right now. We’re neck deep in NEPTUNE business and totally incommunicado. Tommy is god knows where.
Oof! The Trident just nearly three me out of my seat. That can only mean one thing. We’re approaching our next destination.
The time to rock the (next) loch is nigh!
