Diary Entry-WTF?

I’m penning this diary entry while the Trident is hurtling through some crazy underwater tunnel taking us to who knows where. What was supposed to be an expedition that would result in a long awaited best seller for Pops has turned into something else entirely. I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but I do know NESSIE IS REAL!

We got up close and personal with Nessie right before it entered some kind of underwater cavern. The Trident was in hot pursuit. The next thing I know, the ship is bouncing all over the place before entering this crazy, multi-colored underwater tunnel.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m kinda enjoying the ride. As a kid, I LOVED roller coasters. I was always the one to throw my hands in the air (and wave them like I just don’t care).

But, where this ride is taking us is anyone’s guess. The first few minutes were pretty bumpy. They rivaled anything I’ve experienced at Six Flags or Disneyland.

Then, things seemed to stabilize a bit. That’s when I pulled out my pen and decided to jot down a few thoughts. So much crazy stuff has happened in such a short period of time, I don’t quite know where to begin.

Setting aside the revelation that Nessie is real, we’re now officially contractors for NEPTUNE. If this is an acronym, I don’t know what it stands for. But, I know they specialize in ‘underwater anomalies’. It makes you wonder who might be in charge of ‘above water anomalies’.

Slade is a total creepster and a bit of a jerk. You can tell he’s been working for the government for most if not all of his life. I’m sure he’s been involved in no shortage of weird, black-ops type projects like this.

Not that I would claim to fully understand exactly what this project is all about. I’m sure Slade is keeping plenty from us, including what the hell this tunnel is all about.

What I do know is when Dad fired the SIREN at Nessie, our favorite aquatic cryptid changed course dramatically. The Trident picked up speed and closed the gap. Then, we followed Nessie into the underwater cavern that seemingly turned into this tunnel we’re now hurtling through.

I can’t shake the idea that Slade HAD to have known this would happen. The question is HOW did he know we’d end up riding this crazy train to destinations unknown. What has Slade and his minions from Neptune uncovered? What do they know?

Hopefully, I will survive this ride and get some answers. Pops looks stressed. I can’t blame him.

This isn’t what he had in mind. Dad’s never had much faith in the government at any level. I have to imagine what little faith he ‘had’ has now been all but obliterated.

On the upside, Dad’s probably got enough material for a bestseller and we’ve only just begun! Ugh. Things just got bumpy again. Does this mean we’re nearing the end of this trip?

We might be near the end of this trip, but I have a feeling we’ve barely scratched the surface of what lies ahead.
