Diary Entry…The Sebastiani Theater…

They say love conquers all. I’m not sure if I’ve been in love, so I don’t really know. But, there’s no doubt John and Lucina loved each other fiercely.

Their love for each other persisted long after each of them shuffled off their mortal coil. I don’t know exactly how the two of them managed to get separated and stranded in two different locations. But, I’m glad I was able to bring these two ghostly lovebirds back together.

Bringing them together was all they needed to let go of this world and move on. As challenging (and exhausting) as this work can be, it’s moments like these that make it worth it. They’re gratifying and serve as a reminder that the work Mom and I do is important.

Less gratifying was my conversation with my friend journalist friend, Erin. While my timing in reaching out to her was impeccable as she was working on a story about the ‘achilles virus’, she didn’t exactly buy my story.

It’s frustrating. But, I knew it would be a tough sell. The idea that there’s some kind of ‘zombie’ running around that preys on those who seek to be active via walking, hiking, or running is tough to swallow.

Making my story even tougher to swallow is the idea that said ‘zombie’ is invisible to all but those who can see ghosts. Explaining to Erin that I’m one of those fortunate (or unfortunate?) few wasn’t particularly well received either. Sigh….

I did at least get Erin to consider the idea that this might be something other than a ‘virus’. Anyone who’s been afflicted doesn’t appear to ‘spread’ it to others, which isn’t exactly consistent with how most viruses operate.

I did give Erin contact information for Joey, Tessa, and Coach T. Maybe they can share some details around their experience to help inform her story. I can only hope whatever Erin comes up with can help save a few folks from falling victim to the Nur.
