Diary Entry-Some downtime at Loch Como..

Lake (Loch) Como. This is where it all began for my parental units. This is where they celebrated their nuptials.

Pops and I revisited the scene of the crime while Slade and the Neptune crew did their thing. I swear I saw a few tears in his eyes. I can’t blame him.

Mom is special. She grabbed a place in his heart early on and never let go. Their relationship has always been tricky, but it’s never been complicated.

Pops loves her for who she is. Mom loves pops for who he is. It’s a simple equation. But, even the simplest equations aren’t easy to solve.

Daniel Cohen was already kind of a big deal before Mom met him. He had a couple best sellers under his belt. Mom was no slouch either.

She’d made a name for herself as a world renowned ghost whisperer. Dad had his thing. Mom had hers.

They both had their own thing. It brought them together. But, it also threatened to tear them apart.

Fortunately, for me and Tommy, things worked out. They got married. They honeymooned at Lake Como.

It was (seemingly) happy ever after. But, nothing ever works out that way. Reality always intrudes.

Dad became a bit of a star. Mom did too. Me and Tommy got stuck in the middle.

All of us learned there was a price associated with being a Cohen. For all of us, this meant compromising our privacy. It’s NOT like we are the Kardshians, far from it! But, the world always wants to know what we are doing.

Most of the time, we’re dealing with same mundane, bullshit that everyone else is dealing with every day. But, it’s not always like that. Sometimes, we stare down the unfathomable, the incomprehensible, and the logic defying.

Taking a quick spin at Lake Como told me a lot about Pops. It also told me a lot about where Tommy and I came from. Had Daniel and Jessica not crossed paths all those years ago, we wouldn’t be here.

But, here we are. Well, not exactly. Tommy is marooned in some kind of secret dimension we have yet to discover. And, I am here…wherever (and whenever) that may be.

Pops and I both think there may be a way to find Tommy. But, we may be completely reliant upon an aquatic cryptid many don’t believe in to find him. Nessie seems to be the compass in this journey.

It’s a creature that can unlock any hollow earth tunnel (assuming it can be accessed by a loch). So, we’ll keep following Nessie, even if we’re not of the destination. I’m not sure what other choice we have.

We’ll find a way. Kick, scratch, or claw, but find a way to get the job done. That pretty much captures the Cohen family mantra/credo.

This credo has generally served us well. It’s our true north. It’s rarely led us astray.

The Trident bumps, shimmies, and shakes. It’s clearly in the midst of its final descent. This ride is nearly over.

Unfortunate our stay at Loch Como was so short. But, we’ve got other (bigger) fish to fry. Is it wrong to think of Nessie as a fish?

So much to mull over as the Trident bumps, grinds, and rolls towards our next destination.
