Diary Entry-A bigfoot bonanza and near disaster at Bluff Creek.

It’s hard to know where to begin unpacking what unfolded at Bluff Creek. I understand now why the Patterson-Gimlin is the mecca for all things squatch related. It’s a hotbed of Sasquatch activity.

We weren’t even onsite for an hour before we heard that tell-tale whooping noise squatches love to make. A few minutes later, we meandered down a game trail and ran headlong into that familiar knocking sound. All of this was pretty squatchy, but Bluff Creek was just getting warmed up.

I uncovered yet another nest. While it was ultimately being used by Jimmy (we’ll get to Jimmy in a minute), it didn’t appear to be constructed by a human. It very well could have been constructed by a squatch.

I also found another footprint and a handprint. Between the noises, the nest, and the prints, my experience at Bluff Creek transcended anything I could have expected. But, there was so much more that was yet to unfold when night fell.

I’d barely managed to close my eyes before the knocking noises materialized. Shortly thereafter, this was followed by the rustling noises. Rounding things out, the tent was shaken violently.

Perhaps foolishly, I cracked open the tent to get a glimpse of whatever was out there. Sherman bolted. I gave chase.

Little did I know what was making the noise (and shaking our tent) was Jimmy dressed up in some kind of crazy Sasquatch suit! Before I even had a chance to ask him what the hell was going on, Sherman sprinted off into the darkness.

We sprinted after Sherman only to find him standing outside an odd looking cave. After more than 300 miles of searching, I had a close encounter of the squatchy (and terrifying) kind. At least, I assume it was a Sasquatch.

The thing knocked my night vision goggles off preventing me from getting a great look at it. But, it was enormous. It reeked something awful.

It was NOT happy we were paying it a visit. If not for Jimmy bodychecking the beast, Sherman and I might not still be here. We managed to get out of there relatively unscathed.

I’m still shaken by what we encountered out at Bluff Creek. I’m also more than a bit shook up by encountering Jimmy out there. What the hell was he DOING? What the HELL is going on?

Before heading to the final stop on the road trip in Happy Camp, we’re making a bit of a detour East to Klamath via some backroads. Jimmy has a report he’s looking into there and he’s promised to provide some answers if we can meet him there.

I hope he can provide some clarity because my head is spinning. The mystery of Sasquatch is one thing. The mystery of Jimmy is a whole other beast!
